GREAT WINES FROM FAMILY VINEYARDS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT

South Africa

Anwilka Vineyards 2017, Stellenbosch, South Africa
£ 32.00
Anwilka is a result of the joint venture of three brilliant winemakers: Hubert de Boüard of Château Angélus, Bruno Prats formerly of Cos d’Estournel and Lowell Jooste previous owner of Klein Constantia. Aged for 14 months in big French oak barrel (50% new). Aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry with notes of toasted spices, tobacco and hints of cassis. Fresh and vibrant on the palate, this is a medium-bodied and elegant wine with supple tannins and a very seductive finish.
Ashbourne Sandstone 2022, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, South Africa
£ 19.20
This is an innovative blend that captures the most beautiful possible expression of the sandstone-derived soils in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Free by design of excessively dramatic varietal fruit, the focus of the wine is on bright minerality, salinity and vibrant natural acidity. Sauvignon blanc 51%, Semillon 25%, Chardonnay 24%

Chardonnay 2021, Vineyard Selection Klein Zalze, Stellenbosch, South Africa
£ 16.25
Elegant and complex. Limey fruit with perfect oak balance and a mineral finish on the palate
Chenin Blanc 2022, Klein Zalze Vineyard Selection, Stellenbosch, South Africa
£ 13.95
Hand harvested from selected plot, this wine is then fermented in old oak casks and then aged in stainless steel.
Stone fruit flavours with a generous mouthfeel and elegant finish
False Bay Chenin Blanc "Slow" 2022, Coastal Region, South Africa
£ 9.95
Bready aromas and dried herbaceous notes, including fennel and aniseed dominate the nose, followed by a creamy lemon character. The palate is reminiscent of the nose, with great textural complexity, attributable to the long, slow wild yeast fermentation.
False Bay Syrah "Old School" 2020, Coastal Region, South Africa
£ 9.95
The grapes for this come from two low yielding Stellenbosch vineyards, are hand harvested, fermented with wild yeasts and then raised in large wooden casks. Sustainably made this is a cracking wine for the money and made in a way that is more usual for far more expensive wines. Fresh with full brambly fruits, rustic herby and savoury notes and balanced by fine tannins and natural acidity.
Hamilton Russell Chardonnay 2022, Walker Bay, South Africa
£ 41.15
A tight, mineral wine with classic Hamilton Russell Vineyards length and complexity. Prominent pear and lime fruit aromas and flavours are brought beautifully into focus by a tight line of bright natural acid and a long, dry minerality. An elegant, yet textured and intense wine with a strong personality of both place and vintage.
Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir 2021, Walker Bay, South Africa
£ 40.50
A South African classic- simply the best Pinot Noir out of the Cape
Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, Stellenbosch, South Africa
£ 20.80
A super wine with flavours of cherries, plums and vanilla with hints of spice and cedar on the smooth finish.
Pinotage Abraham & The Heretics 2020
£ 11.95
A very inviting South African Pinotage and a good example of this much questioned grape variety, the `bastard son of Pinot Noir`.... Very fragrant with a light touch of purple and black fruits on the nose with a hint of pleasant cough syrup thrown in. With it`s spicy notes and grip it`s a perfect match for that mid-week Chilli con Carne!
Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc 2022, South Africa
£ 14.30
Great Sauvignon from the Hamilton Russell stable in Walker Bay
The Chocolate Block 2021, Boekenhoutskloof Winery, South Africa
£ 26.95
Majority Syrah, with the rest Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and a splash of Viognier to round out this exceptional bottle of South African red wine. Lush compote of blueberries, ripe plums, black currants & cherries. Cacao-powdery tannins are abundant, adding texture and complexity seamlessly complementing the vivid dark fruits, alcohol, and acidity.
