Biodynamic since 1997,Rossignol Trapet is a Domaine which has earned a great deal of respect ingrowing years. A perfumed nose, with an added peppery sappiness when tasted a month later. Bright red berries on the palate, which is crunchy and precise. 10to 15% new oak. Fragrant, with a rich silky texture bursting with Morello cherry and Damson fruit- lovely long and balanced finish |
| | Delicious pure forest berry and plum fruit with notes of red cherry. Succulent and juicy
|
| | Intense colours, profound aromatics, finesse and elegance are the watchwords here rather than power. There are no rough edges, even in youth, the wines complemented by freshness and lightness of touch, belying underlying, restrained muscle. |
| | A more elegant though markedly restrained nose features cool and pure aromas of dried flowers, high-toned red and blue pinot fruit and lovely spice nuances. The rich, refined and equally pure middle weight flavors are supple yet precise before culminating in a mineral-driven, firm, dusty and long finish where the supporting tannins are notably fine-grained. A CSD of harmony and refinement that should also age effortlessly. |
| | It has a slightly earthy nose, sultry when tasted from barrel, with raspberry preserve and subtle iodine scents, almost like a Marsannay. The palate is medium bodied with crunchy blackberry and blackcurrant notes, sprinkled with black pepper and a touch of graphite towards the edgy finish. I appreciate the energy conveyed here, although the edges need to be smoothed down. |
| | Exquisitely pretty Marsannay. Not particularly complex, but that is not the point of this wine, it’s all about pure, unadulterated pleasure. An open, generous array of fruit flavours of damsons and cherries with a floral violet perfume. Soft, generous, and velvety. 30% whole bunch fermentation. |
| | There is more whole bunch (70%) in the 2016 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru les Champonnets, the highest used by the domaine in this growing season. Now this has a very mineral-driven bouquet, terse and linear at first, though the fruit soon comes to the surface—blackberries, briary and a hint of cassis. This is very seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, weight and persistence. |
| | Lovely mixture of red and black fruits, rich and generous on the palate with silky tanins

| | From vines within the commune of Nuits St Georges, but to the east of the railway line where the land is flatter. Wonderfully aromatic with masses of red fruits, ripe tannins and fresh acidity and structure for a basic Bourgogne.

Delicate aromas of red fruits, tilled earth, savoury, cranberry and undergrowth. This opens further to a ripe raspberry coulis and a little tertiary development.
The entry is richer than expected with cough syrup, ripe red plum, dried cranberry, Pride of India cherry and spices. There is freshness in the mid-palate helped by an agile acidity is supported by a grainy yet creamy tannin.

Located on the Pommard side of the village, Les Angles is a warm site which is always picked first to ensure the grapes do not become over ripe.
WINESPECTATOR / JAMES SUCKLING (92)
The cool essence of red cherry, currant, floral and discreet wood nuances leads to detailed, punchy and precise medium-bodied flavors that possess a silky texture, all wrapped in a sappy and impressively long finale where a hint of cherry pit emerges. Good stuff. |
