Ch Batailley is reliably good and this vintage is no exception.
Fresh blackcurrants on the nose and fine raspberry and blackberry fruit on the palate with an earthy minerality. Dense fruit, ripe tanins and a wonderfuly finish.
A blend of 56.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Carmenere.
Very delicate, subtle fruit-driven nose with attractive floral notes- smooth and full flavoured with a powerful finish- the finish is long
A blend of 45% Merlot, 21% cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Malbec.
A good color with lots of fruit and spice on the nose, Ripe and fresh on the palate with nice full flavour and smooth finish
A Cru Bourgeois which regularly produces to the quality standards of the more exalted Cru Classe of the Medoc ! A bargain
The Chateau is located south of Gruaud Larose in the commune of Cussac-Fort Medoc.
The 2016 Chateau Olivier has a well-defined bouquet with blackberry, black olive and a touch of undergrowth, quite nuanced at first but unfurling with confidence within a couple minutes of aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, a pleasant salinity and fine structure, a touch of edginess here and a dash of spice towards that finish, which maybe just cuts away a little sooner than expected. That said, up until then, everything bodes well for a strong follow up to the 2015 Chateau Olivier. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2022-2045

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, . ruby/purple color, sweet blueberry and blackcurrant fruit, background earth and spice, with moderate, velvety tannins. This medium-bodied wine has good fruit, ripeness and a rather classic mouthfeel
Black fruits and toast aromas. Big and tannic, medium purple in colour with an expressive, youthful nose of liquorice, roasted coffee, ripe plums and slight chocolate . A wine with elegant and smooth drive. Well-layered and complex with flavours being very well integrated.

Coming from the same stable as Leoville las Cases in St Julien, the wine is firmly structured with firm tannins and dark fruit. Rich plum flavours are counterbalanced by solid tanins.
A red wine from the Alto Adige region in the northeast of Italy made from a native variety
The wine is ruby to garnet red in color, with a evocative scents of violets and blackberries. The taste is full, showing a strong structure. Great with red meats, game and cheese
